The Philosophy
Kerstyn Cornelsen has been riding for over 20 years and during that time, has developed a unique approach that combines dressage, horsemanship, psychology, and mindset to create dynamic lessons that address all facets of a rider’s development. She has worked for both Amy Larson and Felicitas von Neumann-Cosel, serving as Felicitas’s assistant trainer for 2.5 years, and continues to collaborate with both on a regular basis. Kerstyn has competed and coached nationally, but her true passion lies in the process of developing both horse and rider. She holds a degree in psychology and is a certified mindset coach, allowing her to skillfully integrate the mental aspects of riding into her training. Whether you are a timid amateur or a competitive professional, Kerstyn helps you “connect the dots” with your horse. She focuses on how the horse perceives the communication, why misunderstandings may occur, and how rider and horse can get on the same page to create harmony and flow. Her lessons are often described as “the best couples therapy session,” leaving riders with a deeper understanding of what both they and their horses need to succeed.
