Training Philosophy

Kristen emphasizes building correct fundamentals, confidence, and long-term soundness through classical dressage principles. Her individualized approach develops both horse and rider systematically, creating harmonious partnerships capable of progressing successfully through the FEI levels.

Professional Background

Kristen has over 20 years of professional experience training horses and riders. While earning bachelor's and master's degrees in Information Systems at the University of Colorado, she competed in barrel racing and hunter/jumpers before focusing exclusively on dressage. After working with FEI trainer Susan Halasz and training with leading dressage professionals including Steffen Peters and Christine Traurig, she established her own successful training business in California. She currently teaches at Fairwind Farm in Santa Rosa.
