Louise Almlund

Louise Almlund Løkken is a Danish-born, Norwegian international dressage rider, trainer, and coach based in Lønset (Oppdal), Norway. She is one of Norway's most accomplished Grand Prix dressage riders, best known for developing her stallion Mr Gold G from a young horse to international Grand Prix level largely through her own training program. She operates Dressurstald Louise Almlund, where she trains horses and coaches riders.

Biography

Louise grew up in Farum, just outside Copenhagen, Denmark. She began riding around the age of 10, immediately developing a passion for dressage.

As a teenager she spent time in the United States, before moving to Germany, where she trained and worked with horses professionally. Later she met her future Norwegian husband and relocated to Oppdal, Norway, where she established her own training stable and eventually became a Norwegian citizen.

She has spent many years producing horses herself rather than purchasing already-trained Grand Prix horses, making her competitive achievements particularly notable within Norwegian dressage.
