Marte Teigen

Background:

She got her first horse at age 11, and while pursuing leadership education, began training both her own and others' horses, discovering a passion for working with horse-rider communication.

From 2000 to 2014, she worked full-time as an equestrian instructor for 14 years, traveling throughout Scandinavia and taking numerous courses in everything from biomechanics to mental training for both horse and rider. She often had a fully booked calendar a year in advance.

She was the first person in Norway to complete a Centered Riding instructor education, and has worked with professionals including Maria Terese Engell, Heidi Nielsen, and Lars Roepstorff.

She took a pause from the horse world in 2014 to be more present at home with her sons, and has since returned, now operating a digital platform called ENJOYHORSELIFE.

Teaching Philosophy:

She focuses on helping adult riders with their own horses find clarity, confidence, and better communication — with a strong emphasis on horse welfare.

She works with balance and biomechanics for both horse and rider, positive reinforcement and stress-free training, horses with physical challenges or behavioral issues, and riders struggling with anxiety or insecurity.

Her core philosophy is that "the horse knows how to be a horse and move elegantly — it is the rider who needs to learn," and that horse welfare is the rider's responsibility.

Current Work:

She has become a digital instructor, offering online teaching through her membership portal.

Through the ENJOYHORSELIFE portal, she offers teaching to riders regardless of where they live, including clients as far as Portugal and Poland, without needing to travel.

She is also listed as a trainer on the Ridesum platform and has an Instagram account at @marte_teigen.
