The Philosophy
My name is Melanie and I have been riding horses (specifically dressage) since I was 9 years old. I started riding with my own Friesian gelding and developed a big drive to become the best rider that I could be. This resulted in hours of training with very experienced trainers and of course hours of training with my own horse. This resulted in a successful young rider and especially GP U25 period with several international competitions. With the Friesian Stallion Wilke-C van de WIjdewormer I was able to place 11th in the GPU25 world rankings and become Dutch and European champion of the Friesian breed in de Grand Prix.
In 2010 I also started teaching motivated riders. My goal is that rider learn to understand how the horses body works and how you can teach a horse to use his body more efficiently. I also try to explain a lot while teaching because, in my opinion, this helps riders to be able to improve themselves en their horse in between training sessions with me.
