The Philosophy

For me, coaching and training horses has always come from a deep love and respect for both the horse and the rider. My passion lies in helping riders build a meaningful partnership with their horses based on trust, communication, and understanding.

Because of this philosophy, I have always sought out horsemen and mentors who not only demonstrated exceptional horsemanship, but who were also able to carry that partnership into competition or performance with a high degree of feel, balance, and respect for the horse.

I work with horses and riders wherever they are in their journey, helping them develop a strong foundation built on understanding, communication, and mutual respect. I teach riders how to communicate clearly and fairly with their equine partner through proper timing, feel, and awareness of the horse’s body and foot placement. As horse and rider begin to understand one another, trust and willingness grow, creating a true partnership where both move and work together as one.

My approach focuses on explaining the how, why, and when behind every aid. Equally important is teaching when to release that aid so the horse clearly understands what is being asked. With consistency, the horse gains confidence and clarity, allowing a beautiful connection between horse and rider to develop—one rooted in trust and reliability.

Groundwork is an important part of my program, helping horses soften, relax, and become more balanced while also giving riders a better understanding of alignment and movement. This creates a clearer mental picture for the rider and allows them to better prepare the horse for each task during the ride.

At its core, horsemanship is about timing, feel, and balance. When horse and rider become truly in sync, and the rider learns how to properly align and prepare the horse for success, they are able to move together in harmony as one.
