Angie Hughes

Hi, I’m Angie Hughes. I’m an AQHA Professional Horseman, trainer, clinician, instructor, and experienced judge with more than 29 years in the horse industry.

I come from a multigenerational horse family and have spent my life helping riders better understand their horses. I have also judged more than 300 horse shows, giving me a trained eye for identifying the small changes that can make a significant difference in a horse and rider’s performance.

My coaching is practical, encouraging, and highly individualized. I don’t believe in forcing every horse and rider into the same system. I look at the entire picture, including your goals, your horse’s experience and physical ability, your position, your communication, and what may be preventing the two of you from progressing.

Through Pivo lessons, I can help you:

• Work through training challenges and frustrating plateaus

• Build confidence in yourself and your decisions

• Prepare for shows, clinics, trail riding, or personal goals

I coach riders from multiple backgrounds and disciplines. Whether you are returning to riding, developing a young or green horse, improving an older horse, preparing to compete, or simply wanting to become a more capable horsewoman, I will meet you where you are.

My lessons are honest but supportive. I will explain not only what to change, but why it matters and how to practice it on your own. My goal is to help you become a more independent, knowledgeable, and confident rider, not to make you dependent on constant instruction.

You do not need a perfect horse, an expensive facility, or competition goals to work with me. You simply need a willingness to learn and a desire to create a better partnership with your horse.
